Brilliant experience in the buffet carriage. We had an amazing breakfast, so nice and generous. The food was great, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and the carriage was awesome. We will definitely be back and highly recommend

What an absolute gem this Cornish Carriages Buffet is. We went today with Helston WI for afternoon tea. Wonderful food, the staff are amazing, and so attentive, and a fantastic atmosphere. This is is our second visit and hopefully we will do it again very soon. A total delight

An excellent cafe just next to the ticket office. We were so delighted to have the fancy looking and exquisitely tasty dessert. What we really appreciated is their lovely hospitality. In fact, the dessert is not in the menu but just found in the google review , they promised to reproduce it and they really did it! An amazing job! The weather was a bit chilly and rainy, but we had a heartwarming day at Helston railway. Thanks for all the staff, especially for those who volunteer to serve there.

We got a cuppa and the cream day takeaway for the train journey. Both great - even had oat milk! Lovely staff. Would have been fun to sit in but we had two small ones in tow who wouldn’t have played ball. Well worth a visit.

Ever time we come to the helston railway we always have to come here as well! It's a good treat to have. They have a good menu with a good selection that would appeal to all. During the week I always have to go with a soup with the roll then followed by a cake. The cakes are so delicious and moist and the biscuits (though I haven't had one yet) look lovely as well. If you go on a Sunday I highly recommend getting a roast if they are available, you may have to book for this. Ours had an amazing selection on it with just about anything you could want on a roast. We went for beef but there was also a gammon option. It was very well cooked and would definitely have it again! Good value as well.

It was our first visit to the cornish carriages buffet cars and we will definitely come back when we are next in the area. We had an afternoon tea for 2 and for the price and the quality, it was excellent value for money. We even brought some back as we could not eat it all. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was too much trouble even making one of the afternoon teas vegetarian.

Wonderful afternoon tea, great food, service and value in great surroundings on board an old train carriage in the sidings at Helston Station. Lots more on offer including Sunday lunch which also looked lovely. Will return
